DOVE CREEK VFW POST 5181
STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
VFW Post 5181 of Dove Creek Colorado is offering a scholarship to a senior attending Dolores County High School/Home Schools.
This is competitive 'one time' scholarship in the amount of $1000.00 available to any senior willing to submit an application and meet the four requirements below.
The funds will be sent to your college/school of choice, to purchase books or part of the tuition and must be used in the first year following high school graduation.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Participation in the VFW “Voice of Democracy” program. Application may be obtained from Mrs. Proffitt at Dolores County High School.
2. Takes and pass the United States Citizenship Test (practice test/s) under the supervision of a teacher. This test cane be found online at https://uscisquestions.com
3. Student will provide a typed description of Community Service performed, sporting activities if any,and any job history. Use as many sheets of paper as necessary
4. Submit proof of 2.5 or higher GPA from the Dolores County High School./Home School
In a simple report binder, submit a copy of your Scholarship Application and the four above requirements to Mrs. Proffitt or the Counselors Office by May 10th of the current year.
VFW Post 5181 reserves the right to NOT award or rescind a scholarship for any of the following reasons:
1. Application not completed correctly or incomplete
2. Student fails to complete their education after being awarded the scholarship.
3. Failure to meet any of the four requirements.
